The Birth Of A Legend.
Although this is not a Mamod steam roller
It has earned the right to be
listed here
The Mastrand steam Roller was the Inspiration for the
Mamod SR1
(Steam
Roller)
Although Eric Malins is said to have been very
unimpressed With this little roller it is In fact a very well made Iconic
Toy steam engine and a part of Mamods history.

When Eric Malins was Browsing the Gamages Of London toy Catalogue in the
late 1950's he came across An advert for the Mastrand roller
And
ordered one this was then used as
A model for the Mamod steam roller.
